Netlink Group goes Platinum
IT building Services and clever technology provider, Netlink Group has gained Clipsal Platinum Member status thus bringing intelligent building technology within the reach of WA businesses.
Perth based Netlink Group, has been working closely with the electrical and lighting control manufacturer since October 2008 to implement and commission Clipsal's C-Bus lighting control integration technology which is at the core of today's intelligent buildings.
Netlink Group founder and MD Steve van Blommestein explains intelligent building technology as a seamlessly connected series of clever computerised networks that can automate electronic devices and control infrastructure systems in both commercial and residential buildings". These control and automation technologies have advanced enormously over the past decade and with Clipsal's aggressive acquisition of many of the leading industry products, you are able to build significant intelligence into the building itself to automate workflows, reduce energy consumption and make a significant improvement to the bottom line in ongoing maintenance costs.
The convergence of these clever networks now easily presented on the IP network, opens up a whole new practice in installing clever systems and maintaining building management systems as well as addressing many of the concerns around green building practices and reducing the carbon footprint of that building.
Netlink Group first commenced in 1994 with a strong focus on providing hardware and software solutions and installations and then managing both of these IT components to provide trouble free IT functionality to their clients - a concept that is today know as "managed services". Today Netlink Groups's 50 skilled personnel deliver more than $6 million worth of IT&C services and products to their predominantly commercial clients.
The C-Bus Platinum programme officially recognises integrators who have achieved a high level of competence from successfully training for commercial applications of C-Bus. As partners of the programme, Netlink Group now receives vendor support from Clipsal, extended warranty and ongoing support.
"Clipsal approached us with the offer to join Platinum and we were honoured to be asked. I see C-Bus as an exciting opportunity to create some really intelligent control systems to reduce energy in commercial usage."
"The great thing about working with C-Bus is that it is an incredibly robust network that is fully seamless with the IP network. This also means significant cost savings for clients."
So far Netlink Group and Clipsal have worked together on a number of projects, primarily in the aged care sector collectively valued at more than a $1 million in commercial work. Netlink Group is now engaged in projects
"We have done our homework in Perth, said Gavin De Livera, CIS General Manager. The Netlink Group is one of the best technology providers in this region and every project we have worked on together has been a success and the clients are always happy. We are proud to call them C-Bus Platinum Partners."
"The support we have received from Clipsal has been outstanding, says Steve. "The relationship we have with Gavin and his team is fantastic. I really enjoy the emphasis Clipsal places on relationships and the way they get involved with our projects to ensure our client's needs are met. This is not always easy as meeting clients expectations can be challenging and requires careful explanation of some of the finer points of integration.
"The C-Bus Platinum Partnership adds to our status. It really is a massive milestone for us."
Steve, who started his career as an Industrial Arts and then an IT teacher, has an open mind towards business.
"If I see a door of opportunity I barge it right open. We've also had some luck in partnering with Clipsal. It's an opportunity to grow our business to take on a greater spectrum of commercial activity offering a total technology solution for clients beyond installation and commissioning but also to include an ongoing managed service solution for the long term.
"When you consider that the majority of commercial buildings have inefficient lighting control practices, there are tremendous opportunities out there for us and the industry even in these uncertain economic times."
